Definition
A complete explanation of the intended meaning of a concept- Removal of carbon dioxide (CO) from the atmosphere through physical or chemical, natural or artificial processes and storage in natural compartments, such as plant biomass, soil, aquifers, among others. It occurs naturally by dissolving gas in ocean waters or by photosynthesis, a process that converts CO into organic compounds used in plant growth. In a productive system, it constitutes the counterpart of the balance of carbon emissions to the atmosphere as a greenhouse gas.
