São Mateus System

Integrated Crop-Livestock (ICL) system, developed by Embrapa Agropecuária Oeste and Embrapa Gado de Corte, indicated for the regions with sandy soil of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Chemical and physical corrections of the soil are made in advance, in addition to the use of recovered pasture by livestock, with subsequent sowing of soybeans under the no-tillage system. Its benefits are the elimination/reduction of water runoff, consequently reducing erosion and evaporation, while increasing runoff and the amount of organic matter in the soil.
