Barrena de crecimiento

Increment boring is a crucial, non-destructive technique for dendrochronologists to retrieve core samples with minimal impact on living trees. A hollow borer with a tapered steel cutting thread is drawn into the tree using a hand crank. The sampling process is designed to have minimal impact on the living tree, typically leaving only a small hole that does not compromise the tree’s health.
