Definition
A complete explanation of the intended meaning of a concept- Finely divided material dispersed in a different phase, with a particle size lying within the range 1-1000 nm in diameter. In soils: a soil particle of very small size (from 0.5 µm to 1 µm), either mineral (e.g. colloid clay) or organic (e.g. humus). Because of their high surface area, such particles usually exhibit strong exchange properties.
