Preferred term
forest component
Definition
A complete explanation of the intended meaning of a concept- Set of elements of tree or shrub species that compose integrated systems within the silvopastoral (livestock-forestry), silvoagricultural (crop-forestry), or agrosilvopastoral (crop-livestock-forestry) models. The insertion of the forestry component into these systems, in different spatial arrangements, allows the increase of long-term income through the commercialization of tree products (wood, oils, fruits, seeds, etc.) and provides beneficial effects to the other components of the integrated system, such as animal welfare due to the shading promoted by growing trees.
Note
Notes- ICF; ICLF; ILF; agroforestry system.
