A complete explanation of the intended meaning of a concept- Technical-scientific study whose results indicate the most suitable planting times in each Brazilian municipality to minimize the risk of impact due to climatic adversities, also listing the types of soil and the cultivars (or cultures) most adapted to each region. It aims to be a risk management instrument for agricultural security and a subsidy for the decision-making process in agricultural policy, optimizing the use of resources in rural credit and rural insurance. ZARC was established as a Federal Government program (Brazilian National Program for the Agricultural Zoning of Climate Risk) by Decree no. 9.841 of June 18, 2019, coordinated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA), executed with technical and scientific support from Embrapa and other institutions. It is published annually through ordinances in the Official Gazette of the Federal Government and on the MAPA website (Brazil, 2019). It was first published in 1996 for wheat cultivation. Currently, it covers all states in the country and more than 40 crops, in addition to the ZARC for the consortium of corn with Brachiaria.
