Présente dans le monde entier, Trichinella peut infecter la plupart des mammifères, et certaines espèces infectent également les reptiles ou les oiseaux. Bien que les humains soient susceptibles à l'infection par toutes les espèces de ce parasite, Trichinella spiralis est la plus commune, infectant les porcs, chevaux, rats, de nombreux carnivores, entre autres animaux.
- La triquinelosis es una grave enfermedad zoonótica (una enfermedad animal que puede infectar a los humanos) causada por nematodos parásitos (gusanos redondos) del género Trichinella. Encontrada en todo el mundo, Trichinella puede infectar a la mayoría de los mamíferos, y algunas especies también infectan a reptiles o aves. Found around the world, Trichinella can infect most mammals, and a few species also infect reptiles or birds. While humans are susceptible to infection by all species of the parasite, Trichinella spiralis is the most common, infecting pigs, horses, rats, many carnivores, among other animals.
