Definition
A complete explanation of the intended meaning of a concept- A term used to describe the hydrogen ion activity of a solution or a soil. The pH of pure water is 7 and is referred to as neutral. A solution of pH less than 7 is said to be acid whereas a solution of pH above 7 is said to be alkaline.
- Coefficient utilisé pour caractériser l'activité des ions d'hydrogène dans une solution ou dans un sol. Le pH de l'eau pure est égal à 7 et caractérise une solution neutre. Une solution ayant un pH inférieur à 7 est dite acide, tandis qu'une solution à pH supérieur à 7 est dite alcaline.
