Preferred term

variable rate application

Variable rate application (VRA) is a method of applying varying rates of inputs in appropriate zones throughout a field, such that the rate of application is based on the precise location, or qualities of the area that the material is being applied to. This is different from uniform application, and can be used to save money (using less product), and lessen the environmental impact.

application methods

Used for fertilizer application, seed planting, pesticide and herbicide application, irrigation and more. In precision agriculture, the application of those materials is based on data that is collected by technologies such as sensors, GPS and maps.
