Notes about the usage and scope of the concept.- A blend of one or more bio-based polymers and additives. Examples of bio-based plastics include polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB), polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) and polylactic acid (PLA), which is used for several purposes, including food packaging, cups, mulch films and tea bags, and can be biodegradable.
