Notes about the usage and scope of the concept.- Tomato leaf curl Pakistan virus was created as a new species in 2007 based on the wrong GenBank accession number. The species name was abolished in 2011 by ICTV Executive Committee and retained the name, Pedilenthus leaf curl virus. Tomato leaf curl Pakistan virus is not an accepted and valid virus species in the 2013 ICTV Universal Virus Database.
