Notas acerca de la utilización y el alcance del concepto.- Oidium is a nomenclatural synonym of Blumeria [U. Braun. 2013. (2210-2232) Proposals to conserve the teleomorph-typified name Blumeria against the anamorph-typified name Oidium and twenty-two teleomorph-typified powdery mildew species names against competing anamorph-typified names (Ascomycota: Erysiphaceae). Taxon. 62(6):1328-1331]. However, Oidium has previously been used in an extremely broad sense, covering all kinds of powdery mildew anamorphs, therefore it should not be USED FOR Blumeria. The term is retained for the purposes of retrieval of historical records on this genus. Although the genus name Oidium has been supressed in favor to numerous telemorphic generic names, the full list of species nomenclators has not been published yet. Therefore, we retain some binomials as species of and as narrow terms for Oidium pending their names published as new combinations.
